You rent the whole house: 70 m², a loft with a double bed under the roof, a second small bedroom downstairs, a wood stove in the living room and a wood-fired tub we light for you. The Stâna de Vale resort is a ten-minute walk; Oradea is about 90 km away.

The whole house · 4 guests (+1 on the sofa)
Downstairs is the living room, open to the kitchen, with the wood stove in the corner. It warms the ground floor in about an hour; firewood is included and kept dry under the deck. If you don't feel like lighting it one evening, the heat pump holds 20–21 °C. Also on the ground floor: a small bedroom with two 90×200 beds (they push together), the shower room, and a 140 cm sofa bed for a fifth guest. Up in the loft is a 160×200 bed, right under the window at the apex. The loft stair is steep, with a handrail, and the ceiling drops to one metre at the edges, so you only stand up in the middle. The kitchen has a four-zone induction hob, an oven, a fridge with a small freezer, a filter coffee maker and dishes for six. On the deck there's a table for four and a gas grill, with a full bottle when you arrive. Wi-Fi runs over satellite and handles films and video calls; phone signal is weak indoors and better on the deck. Two cars fit on the gravel beside the house.

Three things worth knowing

A wood-fired wooden tub for four adults, next to the deck. The water takes about three hours to heat, four in winter. Tell us by noon what time you want it. One firing is 150 lei, wood included.

The double bed is upstairs, under the window at the apex. The stair is steep and the ceiling is low at the edges. For small children, or anyone who gets up often at night, the downstairs bedroom is easier.

From Beiuș you drive up the DJ764A, which is ploughed. The last 600 m to us is a sloping forest track: in snow only a 4×4 or a car with chains gets up. Otherwise leave the car at the ski slope car park and we'll bring your bags up.
If you book with us directly
From November to March the road up to Stâna de Vale can be white. The day before you arrive we tell you what it's like, whether you need chains and where to leave the car.
If nobody checks in after you, Sunday check-out is at 14:00 instead of 11:00. We confirm it on Saturday.
If the road can't be driven because of snow, we move the booking to another free date in the season. You sort it out by phone, with us.
The house and around it

“The resort's marked trails start ten minutes from the house. The Moara Dracului waterfall is a three-to-four-hour walk, and Padiș is a full day: 22 kilometres on the yellow stripe. By car, via Beiuș and Pietroasa, it takes about two hours. Do the big shop in Beiuș, 40 minutes away; there isn't much to buy up here.”
